The Arizona Diamondbacks have claimed infielder Cody Ransom off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers, according to the team’s Twitter.

The 36-year-old journeyman was picked up by the Brewers on May 23rd when he was waived by the D-backs after hitting .269 with 4 home runs and 12 RBIs in Arizona through 17 games.

In Milwaukee however, Ransom was not quite as successful. He posted just a .196 batting average and with six home runs and 26 RBIs through 64 games.

Ransom could see a lot of time on the left side of the infield upon arrival in the Valley. Over the last 30 games, Diamondbacks shortstops and third basemen have combined batting average of just .195.

The team said that Ransom will be activated tomorrow when rosters expand.
