The Arizona Diamondbacks selected reliever Noe Ramirez from the Triple-A Reno Aces on Friday.
Additionally, the team designated pitcher Keury Mella for assignment.
Ramirez was originally signed by the D-backs on May 22.
The reliever was designated for assignment by the Los Angeles Angels on May 16 before being outrighted to the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees two days later. In two games this season with the Angels (3.1 inning pitched), Ramirez posted a 5.40 ERA, allowing two earned runs off four hits.
Ramirez originally got his start with the Boston Red Sox in 2015 before joining the Angels in 2017.
In seven MLB seasons, Ramirez is 13-10 with a 4.20 ERA over 186 games played. He’s recorded one save and has a career 1.255 WHIP in 214.1 innings pitched.
Arizona’s move comes after the team secured an MLB record with its 23rd straight road loss on Thursday in a 10-3 defeat to the San Francisco Giants.
The D-backs will look to snap a 14-game losing streak Friday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
