The Arizona State Sun Devils saw yet another player enter the transfer portal on Friday, with guard Alonzo Verge reportedly throwing his name in as a grad transfer, per Verbal Commits.

SunDevilSource.com adds that Verge is also looking at professional opportunities.

Verge spent two seasons with the Sun Devils, taking home the Pac-12 Sixth Man of the Year by averaging 14.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game in 2019-20.

Last year, Verge started 21 of the 23 games he played. While his 3-point percentage (33.3%), rebounds (3.9) and assists (3.8) per outing marked career highs at ASU, his overall shooting percentage (39.1%) and his points per game (14) took a dip.

Verge marks the latest Sun Devil to throw his name in the transfer portal, while also looking at professional opportunities.

Freshman forward Marcus Bagley decided to enter the transfer portal earlier to leave his options open this offseason, while senior guard Remy Martin announced his commitment to Kansas on Monday if he returned to college basketball.

Other transfers from last year’s squad include guard Jaelen House (New Mexico), forward Taeshon Cherry (GCU), guard Holland Woods (GCU) and power forward/center Chris Osten (NIU).

In an effort to rebuild the roster this offseason, head coach Bobby Hurley and Co. added a handful of players through the transfer portal, most notably guards Marreon Jackson, Jay Heath and A.J. Bramah.
