All seemed well when Chris Paul returned to play before the end of the half after suffering a right shoulder contusion.
However, the point guard wasn’t playing like his normal self. Before the end of the third quarter, Paul again exited to the locker room. Not too long after, he once again returned to the bench.
It was a blow to the Suns in Game 1 when their star point guard went down with an injury in the second quarter.
With 9:19 left in the half, Paul could be seen rolling on the court favoring his right shoulder and wincing in pain.

Players from both teams gathered around the veteran, who got up slowly before heading to the locker room with a towel over his head.

It looked as if Paul’s head and neck made contact with teammate Cam Johnson after trying to stop a layup by LeBron James.
