Lakers’ Anthony Davis gets flagrant for kick to groin on Suns’ Jae Crowder

Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis kicked off Game 2 with a flagrant foul against Phoenix Suns forward Jae Crowder.
The Lakers won the game 109-102 to even the series at 1-1.
Less than a minute into the game, Davis had the ball with Crowder guarding him just inside the three-point line.
As the Lakers forward took his fading jump shot, a foul was called on Crowder while his feet remained on the floor.
But during the follow-thru, Davis’ right foot kicked up and hit the Suns forward in the groin area.

The referees would review the play and confirm Crowder’s common foul on the shot.
However, the contact initiated by Davis’ foot was deemed unnecessary and a flagrant 1 — meaning a second flagrant foul on the night would have resulted in an ejection.
Crowder hit his flagrant foul free throws, but that didn’t stop Twitter from reacting to the kick to the man area.
