Who says there are no fun rivalries in golf?
It may not have the same gusto as Jack vs. Arnold, but the Bryson DeChambeau-Brooks Koepka spat is an interesting one that’s been brewing over time and has recently garnered more attention thanks to an interaction that left Koepka visibly annoyed by the 2020 U.S. Open champion.
So when it was announced Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and PGA Championship winner Phil Mickelson would be facing off in July against DeChambeau and Green Bay Packers signal caller Aaron Rodgers in The Match 4, the Super Bowl LV MVP poked fun at his opponents.

Brady’s quick-trigger memes come from a recently unaired video of Koepka speaking with a reporter following the second round of the PGA Championship this past weekend.
Koepka is mid-interview when it’s clear he’s thrown off by something before DeChambeau is seen walking through the camera shot. Major eye-rolling and a few curse words ensued in the since-removed video.
As you would assume, Koepka felt bad for Rodgers. Meanwhile, Mickelson went the Brady route and added more fuel to the fire.
I feel like I’m in the middle of something and should step aside. (Except they want the CURRENT PGA champ:)

It didn’t take long for DeChambeau to chime in, either.
@BKoepka It’s nice to be living rent free in your head!

The Mickelson-Brady pairing may have the upperhand in trash talk, but according to SportsBetting.ag, DeChambeau and Rodgers have a 66.7% chance of taking home The Match.
Mickelson won the inaugural Match over Tiger Woods back in 2018. Mickelson and Brady lost in Round 2 to Woods and NFL Hall of Famer Peyton Manning in May 2020.
Last November, Mickelson and former Phoenix Sun Charles Barkley knocked off Golden State Warrior Steph Curry and Manning in the third installation of The Match.
With the amount of trash talk from the announcement alone, July 6 can’t come soon enough.
Two old guys against the young bucks @PhilMickelson. @b_dechambeau better get used to laying up because we know @AaronRodgers12 isn’t going for it 🤣 https://t.co/f1DQsFn41U
