Los Angeles Lakers big Anthony Davis is considered day-to-day after missing the second half of Game 4 against the Phoenix Suns with a left groin strain, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania and ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Davis, who entered the day questionable with a left knee injury, suffered the groin injury near the end of the first half.

The star went up for a contested layup and came down awkwardly on his left leg, the same leg as his knee hyperextension suffered in Game 3. Davis stayed on the ground briefly holding his upper left leg.

He walked into the tunnel with Lakers staff and did not reappear at the beginning of the third quarter.

After the game, Charania tweeted that the forward/center “has a chance” to play in Game 5 but “his status is very much in question.”

In the first half, Davis scored six points on 2-for-9 shooting and had four rebounds in 19 minutes of play. Kyle Kuzma started the second half.

Davis had similarly struggled in Game 1 before dominating Games 2 and 3. In those two Lakers wins, he averaged 34 points and 10.5 rebounds.

Phoenix led 54-50 at the end of the first half and built the lead as high as 18 points before winning 100-92.

Without Davis in the game, center Deandre Ayton took over. He made the Suns’ first three field goals in the second half and finished with 14 points and 17 rebounds.
