Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt has overtaken Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez for first place in the National League All-Star voting for first basemen, according to the latest voting update released Tuesday.

Goldschmidt currently has 2,010,049 votes, holding a large lead over Gonzalez, who has 1,882,725 votes through Tuesday’s update.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pound first baseman is hitting .340 with 16 home runs and 47 RBI in 57 games played in 2015.

Goldschmidt finished second in the 2013 NL MVP voting and was named an All-Star starter last season. If he wins the first base vote again in 2015, he would become the first player in Diamondbacks history to win multiple fan elections.

The only other Diamondbacks in franchise history to be named All-Star starters by fan election are second baseman Jay Bell (1999), third baseman Matt Williams and outfielder Luis Gonzalez (2001).

Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper is currently the leading vote-getter in the National League, garnering 3,690,414 votes through the latest update.

The 2015 MLB All-Star Game will take place at the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio on Tuesday, July 14.
