Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker came out on fire in Game 5 of the first-round opening series against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.

He would finish with 30 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the 115-85 Suns win to take a 3-2 lead in the series.

The All-Star scored 10 of his team’s first 19 points halfway through the first quarter with the Suns up 19-10.

Booker got six of his points the old-fashioned way on a pair of acrobatic and-ones.

He finished the opening frame with 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting and 2-of-2 from three-point range.

By halftime, the Suns had blown the game wide open to lead 66-36. Booker had 22 points, while Cam Payne scored 14 off the bench.

The Lakers, without All-Star forward Anthony Davis, got just seven points from LeBron James, who went 3-of-10 for seven points, three turnovers and five assists.

Phoenix fell behind early in Game 5 but went on an 11-0 run to eventually take a 34-26 lead into the second quarter. The Suns outscored the Lakers 32-10 in the second quarter, holding Los Angeles to 31% shooting by the end of the first half.

Los Angeles was without Davis due to a grade-one groin strain.

Phoenix Suns could look into trade for Blazers’ Jusuf Nurkic with Deandre Ayton

While the Phoenix Suns' intention all summer was to not trade Deandre Ayton, an imminent Damian Lillard trade could make Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic available, something that could interest the Suns, according to Arizona Sports' John Gambadoro.
