PHOENIX — Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis will not play Tuesday in Game 5 against the Phoenix Suns.
Former Sun Markieff Morris, who was Phoenix’s 13th overall pick in 2011, will start in Davis’ place.

The injury update was first reported by Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro.
Morris has played 12 minutes over two games thus far in the first-round series that is tied, 2-2.
Davis took part in a brief warmup Tuesday before the game at Phoenix Suns Arena. He took set jumpers but did little else before leaving to the locker room.

After a 13-point outing in Los Angeles’ Game 1 loss to Phoenix, Davis put together monster performances in Games 2 and 3, dropping 34-point double-doubles in consecutive Lakers victories.
He hyperextended his knee in Game 3 last Thursday and then strained his groin on Sunday, playing 19 minutes and not returning for a Suns win in Game 4.
Davis averaged 21.8 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists this regular season.
While Davis is out, the Lakers are expected to have guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope available, head coach Frank Vogel said in his pregame press conference. Caldwell-Pope missed Game 3 with a knee injury.
The Suns’ injury report will not include point guard Chris Paul, who will once again play through a shoulder issue.
