Guard Will Barton is expected to play for the Denver Nuggets in Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, barring a setback during pregame warmups, the guard is expected to make his first appearance for the Nuggets since a loss to the Golden State Warriors on April 23 when he suffered a right hamstring strain.

Barton averaged 12.7 points and four rebounds per game this season for Denver in 56 games played.

Where he could help the Nuggets the most is on the defensive end.

The 6-foot-6 guard is another option for head coach Mike Malone to deploy on Suns star Devin Booker.

Barton has averaged nearly a steal per game and nearly 30 minutes per game for the last two seasons with Denver and was an integral part of the team’s rotation before suffering the injury.

The Suns take on the Nuggets at 6:30 p.m. Tune to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station for all the action.
