The D-backs organization has decided to pay tribute to the local Hispanic culture in the Valley with their new uniforms.
βWe are proud to be among the first teams to launch our City Connect uniforms that pay homage to so much of what makes life in Arizona unique,β D-backs President & CEO Derrick Hall said. βThis concept is about bringing our community together, with respect for the past and an eye toward the future.β
“Serpientes” which translates to the snakes in Spanish, can be seen written across the middle of the uniforms.

Along with representing the Hispanic culture in Phoenix, the Arizona state flag is stitched on the sleeve on the new jerseys.
Two other Diamondbacks logos are also represented on the City Connect uniforms, one the sleeve and one on the bottom left corner of the uniforms.

The Diamondbacks will debut the new uniforms on June 18 against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Arizona will also wear the City Connect jerseys throughout the season, including during Hispanic Heritage Weekend from September 24-26.
Arizona was one of seven teams chosen this year for the inaugural collaboration between MLB and Nike.
The Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, Miami Marlins and San Francisco Giants are also a part of the 2021 Nike MLB City Connect Series.
