The first Arizona State product came off the board in the MLB First-Year Player Draft in the second round Monday.
Left-handed pitcher Brett Lilek went 50th overall to the Miami Marlins.
The 6-foot-4 junior appeared in 17 games and started 15 in 2015, throwing 78.2 total innings with a 4-2 record, 3.20 ERA and 66 strikeouts.
Lilek has been an honorable mention twice for the All-Pac-12 team, and his 3.05 collegiate ERA is the seventh-lowest in the aluminum bat era among pitchers with a minimum of 150 innings thrown.
The lefty was originally taken by the Seattle Mariners in the 37th round of the 2012 draft. His hometown is South Holland, Illinois.
When looking at Arizona products in the 2015 draft, two players from the University of Arizona went ahead of Lilek: Kevin Newman at 19th overall to Pittsburgh and Scott Kingery at 48th overall to Philadelphia.
