Arizona State quarterback Mike Bercovici’s hype keeps growing as the Sun Devils’ season draws near.
Bercovici was just listed at No. 4 on NFL.com’s “15 for 15: Strongest arms in college football” list.
Despite receiving only three starts last season, the quarterback broke through relative anonymity with a bang in his first, throwing for 488 yards and three touchdowns (with two interceptions) against UCLA.
He then threw for 510 yards and five touchdowns against USC, complete with one jaw-dropping 46-yard Hail Mary touchdown pass to win the game. Earlier, he threw a 77-yard pass to receiver Jaelen Strong to bump the Sun Devils up over the Trojans in the second quarter.
Bercovici helped avenge Arizona State’s loss to Stanford in the Pac-12 championship game a year prior with a 26-10 win over the Cardinal. He threw for 245 yards and a touchdown in the effort.
Penn State’s Christian Hackenberg, TCU’s Trevone Boykin and Ohio State’s Cardale Jones received the top-three slots ahead of Bercovici.
