Scooby Wright is eager to prove that his breakout sophomore season for the Arizona Wildcats was no fluke.
Wright was listed at no. 2 on NFL.com’s 15 for ’15: College football’s scariest players.
Wright’s sophomore season earned him numerous awards such as the Jack Lambert award for the nation’s best linebacker and the Chuck Bednarik award for the nation’s best defensive player.
The Arizona linebacker finished his 2014-2015 season with 163 total tackles, 29 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, and 6 forced fumbles.
The extraordinary play of Wright was magnified by the timeliness of his big plays.
Arizona’s upset victory over Oregon was sealed because of a Wright sack, forced fumble, and fumble recovery with less than three minutes to go in the game. Wright also had two sacks and 13 total tackles in Arizona’s win over Arizona State.
Ohio State’s Joey Bosa was first on the list.
