After winning their first football state championship since 1949, Chandler High School head football coach Sean Aguano has his gaze fixed on back-to-back titles, as the Wolves have the look of a team primed to be a championship favorite as the 2015 season rapidly approaches.
In fact, the Wolves may be one of the nation’s best teams, as MaxPreps and CBSSports.com ranked Chandler as the no. 17 team in the country in the recruiting publication’s preseason top 25.
With seven starters returning on both offense and defense, Aguano’s team is led by running back Chase Lucas, who rates as a four-star athlete according to 247Sports Composite. Joining the dynamic Lucas on offense is three-star wide receiver N’Keal Harry and three-star safety-turned-quarterback Mason Moran, who is currently verbally committed to Oregon State.
Defensive tackle Thomas Chisholm, linebacker K.T. Tilini and defensive backs Kyree Woods and Isiah Swann headline the Chandler defense.
The Wolves will begin their quest to defend their state championship August 29 when they face defending national champion Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman on national television.
