D-backs’ Archie Bradley pitches four innings for Triple-A Reno in return from disabled list

The road to back the majors began in Tacoma, Washington for Arizona Diamondbacks right-handed pitcher Archie Bradley, who made his return from the 15-day disabled list pitching four innings for D-backs’ Triple-A affiliate Reno Wednesday night.

Surrendering six hits and three earned runs (including one home run), Bradley threw 63 pitches (40 strikes) for the Aces, striking out three before exiting the game before the start of the fifth inning with Reno trailing Tacoma 3-0.

After starting the season at the major league level with the D-backs, Bradley was borderline dominant, cruising to a 2-0 record through three starts. However in his fourth start against the Colorado Rockies on April 28, Bradley was hit in the face by line drive from the bat of Carlos Gonzalez, fracturing his sinus and forcing him to the DL for the first time this season.

Upon his return to the big league mound, Bradley failed to demonstrate the pitching touch he exhibited earlier in the season, going 0-3 with a 11.25 ERA in his last four starts for the D-backs.

The D-backs placed Bradley on the 15-day DL with shoulder tendinitis on June 4.
