Two players in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization were named to the World Team for the All-Star Futures Game.
Pitcher Wei-Chieh Huang and outfielder Socrates Brito will play in the 2015 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game on Sunday, July 12 as part of All-Star Weekend.
Huang, the only Taiwanese representative, is 3-0 in five starts in his rookie season with the Kane County Cougars. He has 32 strikeouts this year in 31.2 innings pitched and a 0.85 ERA.
Brito, one of thirteen players from the Dominican Republic, has been in the D-backs organization since 2010. He is hitting .255 with two home runs, 31 runs and 21 RBI this season for the Mobile Bay Bears.
The 25-man rosters for the U.S. Team and the World team were selected by Major League Baseball, Major League Baseball Scouting Bureau, MLB.com, Baseball America and the 30 Major League Clubs. The World Team features players from seven countries and territories, with the Dominican Republic and Venezuela having the most representation.
This is the 17th edition of the All-Star Futures Game with the U.S. team, winners of the last five, holding a 10-6 all-time advantage.
