The Arizona Diamondbacks took control of their final game in San Diego with three home runs bringing in all six runs to beat the Padres 6-4 on Sunday afternoon.

Welington Castillo got the action started with a three-run homer in the second. Peralta’s solo blast in the third and Lamb’s two-run shot in the sixth would bring in all the runs the D-backs would need.

The Padres would answer in the game with three home runs of their own, but two of them were solo shots. Padres catcher Derek Norris had two on the day.

D-backs starter Chase Anderson gave up those three home runs, but he only gave up five hits in his seven innings of work. Daniel Hudson pitched one perfect inning of relief and Brad Ziegler closed out the ninth for the save.

The D-backs went 2-4 on their road trip and now return to Arizona for a three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers and a four-game series against the Colorado Rockies.

Here’s the game, by the numbers:

35%

Welington Castillo has 35% of the extra-base hits for the D-backs catchers despite having less than fifty at bats for the team.

13

Brad Ziegler now has 12 saves. He is now only one save away from tying his career high of 13 in 2013.

6

Chase Anderson has now allowed six home runs in his last two starts.

83%

Five out of six of Matt Kemp’s homers have come in June.

14

Daniel Hudson has now held opponents scoreless in 14 of his last 17 appearances.
