MADRID (AP) — Spain’s administrative court for sport has suspended the president of the Spanish tennis federation.
Spain’s higher sports council says Jose Luis Escanuela has been “suspended from exercising his functions for one month.”
The suspension comes amid a spat between the council and the federation over the auditing of the federation’s finances.
The council is sending two inspectors to examine the federation’s books on Thursday.
Escanuela says he feels “attacked” and that he has “the (financial) documents at the disposal” of the inspectors.
