The Western Conference Finals have had a fair share of Pat Beverley’s antics through the first five games.

Tuesday night’s Game 5 between the Los Angeles Clippers and Phoenix Suns was no different.

With six minutes to go in the third quarter and the Suns trailing by nine, point guard Chris Paul heaved up a three off a Deandre Ayton screen.

On the shot, Beverley took out the legs of Paul while fighting through Ayton’s screen.

Paul missed the shot, but a foul was called on Beverley — who disagreed with the call, to say the least.

“I just, you know, some of the stuff that’s happening is just, it is what it is, but when a guy does that kind of stuff consistently, what do you say as a coach?” Suns head coach Monty Williams said. “I can call the league, I can talk to the officials in the NBA, it doesn’t do anything until something’s done about it. Those kinds of plays are dangerous. You know what I mean?

“That play with Chris, I have to watch it more on the film, but we can’t let those kinds of plays get into our heads,” Williams added. “They were physical tonight, that was an example of it, I want to watch the film before I make a declaration about that play, but they played desperate. Do I think it was a dirty play? No. But I think even when you’re playing with a certain degree of aggressiveness it can come off the wrong way.”

The Clippers guard was seen mocking Paul’s reaction to getting his legs taken out.

Upon review, the officials deemed the play to be a Flagrant 1 foul.

The Point God converted to turn it into a five-point play.

Despite losing Game 5 to the Clippers, 116-102, but the Suns still hold a 3-2 lead in the series.

The Suns will get another shot at punching their first ticket to the NBA Finals since 1993 in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday night in Los Angeles.

Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. at the Staples Center. Catch all the action on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
