Like just about everyone else across the state and around the NFL, Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Christian Kirk has been left wondering about Larry Fitzgerald’s future plans.

And from the sound of the fourth-year wideout on Wednesday, he’s still very much in the dark.

“You never know with Fitzy. He’s taking his time, a little longer this year, but he’s done it like this in the past where he takes his time and kinda does his own thing and then he’ll decide, so we’ll see,” Kirk said. “I know he loves the game and will always have love for the game. That’s a big brother to me.

“I’m appreciative of every moment I’ve had with him on and off the field. I think I definitely learned more on just how to carry myself as a professional off the field, building relationships with people. I’m super grateful to him. Going from him being my idol growing up living in Arizona to now having him as family, my big brother. It’s a special thing. I hope to see him back on the field.”

Similar to recent years past, Fitzgerald played on a one-year deal last season, making him a free agent this offseason. The wideout has been mum on whether or not he will return for an 18th season or retire from the game.

Fitzgerald, 37, has amassed 121 touchdowns and 17,492 yards over 17 NFL seasons with Arizona.

In 13 games last season, Fitzgerald recorded 54 receptions for 409 yards and one touchdown, all career lows.
