Suns’ Cam Johnson out for Game 6 of WCF due to non-COVID illness

The Phoenix Suns will be without wing Cam Johnson in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals against the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center on Wednesday night.
Johnson has been ruled out by the team due to a non-COVID illness.
However, the actual illness keeping the Suns forward out is currently unknown.
The loss of Johnson is a huge blow to Phoenix, as the second-year pro has been one of the more consistent defenders and shooters in the series against the Clippers.

In five Western Conference Finals games, the former North Carolina Tar Heel is averaging 10.8 points, four rebounds and 1.2 steals in 23.8 minutes per contest.
Johnson is also shooting 70% from the field (21-for-30) and 52.9% from three (9-for-17).
Suns’ Torrey Craig and/or Abdel Nader will likely see an increase in minutes to fill in for the absence of Johnson.
Head coach Monty Williams could also bump up minutes for Jae Crowder and Mikal Bridges, who are averaging 31 and 33 MPG, respectively.
Johnson joins Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard (knee sprain) and Ivica Zubac (MCL sprain) on the shelf for Game 6 of the WCF.
Phoenix looks to punch its first ticket to the NBA Finals since 1993 with a win at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
