Phoenix Suns play-by-play voice Al McCoy has been on the radio waves since the 1972-73 season.

He’s watched the team at its highest moments, including the franchise’s two NBA Finals trips in its history.

Now McCoy can add one more to his resume.

Here is his final call before postgame of the Suns’ 130-103 win against the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 6 of the conference finals on Wednesday.

Phoenix previously made the NBA Finals in 1976 and 1993, losing both times to the Boston Celtics and then the Chicago Bulls.

“This one is over. The Suns get the win over the LA Clippers, they eliminate the Clippers,” McCoy said on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station. “I have to tell you this: For the third time in my NBA broadcasting career, I have the opportunity to say, ‘The Suns are going to the NBA Finals. The Suns have the opportunity to be the kings of all of pro basketball.'”

The Suns will face either the Milwaukee Bucks or Atlanta Hawks in the 2021 NBA Finals.

That Eastern Conference Finals series is tied at 2-2 with Game 5 set for Thursday night.
