The Phoenix Suns had their moment on the bench as the seconds ticked away in their Game 6 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.
Then they had another at center court as they were presented the Western Conference Finals trophy in front of a live TV audience.
But before the Suns’ likely lively party on the flight back to Phoenix brought them into a mini-parade leaving Sky Harbor International Airport on the way home, they had another moment together in the locker room.
The team posted a snippet of that celebration to its Instagram account on Thursday, a day after Phoenix secured an NBA Finals berth with a dominant 130-103 victory against Los Angeles.
Chris Paul entered the locker room and set the conference championship trophy in the center of the room. Then it was time for the waterworks.
“This right here feels kinda good,” Paul told his teammates. “Imagine how that next one feel.”
Suns center Deandre Ayton had his own intimate moment with the trophy — “Why is she playing so hard to get, man?” — before breaking the huddle on the way out.
