Former Arizona State Sun Devils guard Remy Martin is withdrawing his name from the 2021 NBA Draft and will return to college to play for the Kansas Jayhawks, per CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.
Martin entered the transfer portal after also declaring for the NBA Draft back in May. The upcoming season will mark his fifth in college.
Martin averaged 19.1 points a game in each of his last two years at Arizona State en route to being named First Team All-Pac-12 in back-to-back seasons.
After leading the team in scoring as a senior, he moved into second place on ASU’s all-time assist leaderboard with a total of 466 dimes.
Coincidentally, Martin had the breakout moment of his career against then-No. 1 Kansas in his freshman season. The guard scored a then-career-high 21 points in the Sun Devils’ upset at Allen Fieldhouse back in December of 2017. He was Pac-12 Sixth Man of the Year that season.
The guard was a part of a long list of Sun Devils that left the program this offseason.
Holland Woods (GCU), Jaelen House (New Mexico), Chris Osten (NIU) and Taeshon Cherry (GCU) were among those who found new homes through transferring, while Marcus Bagley and Josh Christopher are exploring professional opportunities.
Bagley also entered his named into the transfer portal to keep his options open.
