Suns point guard Chris Paul had an interesting answer when asked about his hand by ESPN’s Malika Andrews following Phoenix’s 118-105 win over the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

“I don’t know what you are talking about,” Paul said smiling as he walked off the court.

Midway through the third quarter, Paul appeared to have aggravated his left hand going up against Bucks forward Bobby Portis.

The Suns training staff evaluated Paul on the bench and wrapped his hand.

Paul finished Game 1 leading all scorers with 32 points and chipped in with nine assists and four rebounds in 37 minutes.

“I just kept trying to be aggressive,” Paul said. “Our guys got going and Cam Payne and all the coaches were talking about us playing with pace. I’m the old head that likes to slow it down sometimes, but in this series we got to play with pace.”

Paul was also asked how his connection with Booker and Ayton has grown throughout the course of his first year in the Valley.

“It’s trust that we’ve been building all season long for these moments,” Paul said. “We are gonna keep playing, this is just one game gotta stay locked in.”

Devin Booker added 27 points and six assists while Deandre Ayton collected a double-double with 22 points and 19 rebounds in the Suns win.

Game 2 of the NBA Finals is on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Phoenix Suns Arena.
