The Arizona Diamondbacks made several roster moves ahead of their matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday.

Right-handed pitcher Taylor Widener was reinstated from the 10-day injured list.

Arizona also recalled left-handed pitcher Alex Young from Triple-A Reno.

In a corresponding move, the D-backs optioned pitcher Humberto Castellanos and utility-man Andrew Young to Triple-A Reno on Thursday.

Widener will start for Arizona on Friday against the Dodgers. The pitcher was placed on the injured list on May 25 with a right groin strain.

He last took the mound for the D-backs on May 23 against the Colorado Rockies, pitching 1.2 innings and giving up one hit while striking out two hitters.

In five starts this season, Widener has a record of 1-0 and holds a 2.63 ERA in 24 innings of work. He has also struck out 20 batters and given up seven earned runs.

Alex Young returns to the D-backs bullpen after spending some time in Reno. Young has pitched in 38.2 innings this season for Arizona and has struck out 37 batters while giving up 25 earned runs and has an ERA of 5.82.

Castellanos has a record of 0-1 in eight games this season. In 15.2 innings of work, he has allowed four earned runs on 12 hits and has 12 strike outs.

Castellanos pitched a scoreless outing on Wednesday against the Rockies striking out two and allowing four hits in four innings.

Andrew Young is hitting .220 in 33 games for Arizona and has hit four home runs to go along with his nine RBIs this season.

The D-backs start their series against the Dodgers at 7:10 p.m. on Friday.
