Jul 11, 2015, 12:54 PM

ST. ANDREWS, Scotland (AP) — Chris Kirk has withdrawn from next week’s British Open at St. Andrews after breaking his hand, and been replaced in the field by fellow American Kevin Streelman.

The R&A, which organizes the tournament, made the announcement on Saturday.

The 80th-ranked Streelman tied for 54th and 79th in the last two British Opens.

The British Open starts Thursday.
