Amarillo Sod Poodles pitcher Matt Tabor made history when he took the mound on Sunday.

He threw the team’s first ever no-hitter in the Sod Poodles’ 6-1 victory against the San Antonio Missions in the second game of a doubleheader.

In a seven inning game, the right-hander struck out three and allowed just two walks in seven innings. Tabor did not allow a runner to reach second base and retired 13 straight batters to end what was a masterful performance.

In his last three starts, the 22 year-old has not allowed an earned run over a 19.2-inning span.

Tabor is just the fourth pitcher in Double-A to throw a complete-game shutout this season.

His near-perfect outing led him to being named the Double-A Central Pitcher of the Week.

Tabor is the Arizona Diamondbacks’ No. 22-ranked prospect. Arizona drafted him as the 82nd overall pick in the third round of the 2017 MLB Draft.

In his four-year minor league career, he has an 11-11 record with a 3.18 ERA over 217.2 innings with 210 strikeouts.
