Forward Torrey Craig will not return to the Phoenix Suns after agreeing to sign a two-year, $10 million contract with the Indiana Pacers, reports ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Craig joined the Suns in March after being traded by the Milwaukee Bucks, a move by the eventual NBA champions to clear up a roster spot. The 30-year-old immediately established himself as one of the best defenders and rebounders on the team, continuing to earn playing time despite the Suns’ depth on the wing.

Phoenix, however, had Craig eventually fall out of the rotation later in the postseason, as his 36.9% mark from three-point range is a shot that has been inconsistent over his career.

While Craig will be a loss as a depth piece, the Suns have Jae Crowder, Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson taking up just about all of the minutes in the wing rotation.

Phoenix tipped off the free agent negotiating period on Monday by agreeing in principle with backup point guard Cam Payne to a three-year, $19 million contract, per Yahoo! Sports’ Chris Haynes.

The Suns also entered the period with point guard Chris Paul a free agent after opting out of the one year and $44 million left on his previous deal.

The forward averaged 7.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game for the Suns in 32 games.

The Suns are coming off one of the most successful seasons in franchise history, making the NBA Finals after a 51-21 record in the regular season.
