Larry Fitzgerald, Tom Brady team up for weekly SiriusXM show

The Arizona Cardinals have left the door ajar for receiver Larry Fitzgerald to walk through it.

While the free agent has made no firm commitment to returning to the field as of Monday, he’s already made one that might hint toward his interests after any official retirement. Fitzgerald will join Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and broadcaster Jim Gray for a weekly national show on SiriusXM called Let’s Go!

“For all the years we have been together, it has brought me a lot of joy to be on the show with Jim, and to be associated with this Hall of Fame sportscaster,” Fitzgerald said in a press release. “And while we never had the chance to play together, to be radio teammates with the GOAT, Tom Brady, is as good as it gets. I know with Jim and Tom, we will have a great show for the listeners on SiriusXM.”

The show will broadcast for one hour each week, with Gray interviewing Brady and Fitzgerald back-to-back, the network said.

It will air at 3 p.m. every Monday on SiriusXM Mad Dog Sports Radio (channel 82) and re-air that evening on SiriusXM NFL Radio (channel 88).

The first episode is scheduled for Sept. 6, but a preseason episode will come out during training camp and include all three of Fitzgerald, Brady and Gray.

“Tom and Larry are generational talents, two of the best to ever play the game,” said Steve Cohen, SiriusXM senior vice president of sports programming and podcasts. “We couldn’t be more excited to have them on their own SiriusXM show, talking directly to our listeners. And with Jim, a multi Emmy Award winner and one of the best interviewers in media leading the conversations, our subscribers will be getting terrific insights into the game and more every week.”

Fitzgerald has played all 17 seasons in the NFL with the Cardinals, who have said they would be welcome for the receiver to play another year if he decides that is what he wants to do.

“The ball’s in his court,” head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Tuesday. “We feel like we got great depth in that group regardless. We’ll have a plan here either way.”

The 37-year-old receiver made 54 catches for 409 yards last season.
