Arizona Diamondbacks place SP Taylor Widener on injured list

The Arizona Diamondbacks placed starting pitcher Taylor Widener on the injured list Thursday.
In a corresponding move, the team recalled Humberto Castellanos from Triple-A Reno.
Widener was slated to start Thursday night against the San Diego Padres before experiencing cold-like symptoms.
Taking Widener’s place on the mound is Matt Peacock.
In 10 starts this season (46 innings pitched), Widener is 1-1 with a 4.89 ERA and 1.435 WHIP.
In his last start on Aug. 7, Widener went 5.0 innings, allowing two earned runs off of four hits and two walks. He struck out seven on his way to a no-decision.
Castellanos has pitched in eight games this season for the D-backs (15.2 IP). He’s allowed four earned runs and seven walks. He’s struck out 12 batters.
In his lone start of the year, Castellanos went 4.0 innings, giving up four hits and a walk while striking out one.
