The Arizona Cardinals swapped out linebackers Monday afternoon, signing Bryson Young and releasing Reggie Walker.
Young got his NFL start with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Oregon.
He spent training camp with Atlanta before being cut.
The 6-foot-4, 242-pound linebacker reportedly worked out for the Green Bay Packers earlier this month, per Aaron Wilson.
In 49 games with the Ducks, Young made 73 tackles, six of which were for losses, 2.0 sacks, one interception, three passes defensed and one fumble recovery.
Young joins a linebacker room that includes Chandler Jones, Markus Golden, Zaven Collins, Isaiah Simmons and Jordan Hicks.
Walker played in one game last season for the Cardinals, recording a tackle.
In the team’s 19-16 preseason win over the Dallas Cowboys, Walker was on the field for 25% of defensive snaps (18) and 8% of special teams snaps (2). He recorded one tackle in the victory.
Walker is the latest Cardinal to be cut, joining WR Aleva Hifo, DL Darius Kilgo, RB Ito Smith and WR JoJo Ward.
To meet the 85-man roster threshold Tuesday, the Cardinals will need to cut one more player.
The Cardinals also activated RB James Conner, TE Darrell Daniels, DL Leki Fotu and S Charles Washington from the Reserve/COVID-19 list ahead of Monday’s practice.
