Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Jordan Phillips said on Thursday that he is a breakthrough COVID-19 case after testing positive a day prior despite being fully vaccinated.

The defensive end is not yet listed on the COVID-19 reserve list as of early Thursday afternoon.

Phillips said on Twitter that he tested positive. His message was a reply to teammate Justin Pugh, who was placed on the COVID-19 list Wednesday.

Pugh also said he is vaccinated, and used the opportunity to call out the NFL for not having required daily testing for all players, regardless of their vaccination status.

Phillips has missed camp due to an undisclosed injury.

The 28-year-old appeared in nine games last season due to injury and posted 11 tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles. He is pegged as a starting defensive lineman alongside newcomer J.J. Watt at defensive end.

He would join Pugh and receiver Andy Isabella on the COVID-19 reserve list.
