Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and receiver Rondale Moore are among the players who will not play Saturday against the New Orleans Saints in their team’s preseason finale.
“He’s ready to go,” Arizona head coach Kliff Kingsbury said of Murray on Thursday.
Murray’s preseason ends after he went 1-for-4 for two yards and took two sacks Friday in an uninspiring performance for the starters on offense against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The third-year quarterback did not play in the preseason opener against the Dallas Cowboys.
Moore missed practice time Thursday while dealing with a minor injury issue.
The rookie second-round pick appears set to begin his NFL career in a key slot role for the Cardinals.
He made three catches for 23 yards and rushed twice for 16 yards in his preseason debut against Dallas. On Friday against the Chiefs, Moore made three catches for 15 yards and added a rush for nine more.
While the NFL knocked off a fourth preseason game, most teams are treating the third as a final audition for players further down the depth chart.
Arizona will give its significant contributors time off in New Orleans before the team takes next weekend off and then opens the regular season Sept. 12 at the Tennessee Titans.
