Cardinals draft pick Acho was ‘shocked’ he wasn’t taken earlier

If you ask Arizona Cardinal draft pick Sam Acho when he thought he was going to get drafted his answer might surprise you.
No, not necessarily because the University of Texas product thinks too highly of himself, but rather because of what a few NFL scouts and coaches told him leading up to the draft.
“I talked to some NFL coaches and they told me they were going to draft me in the second round or they gave me a second or third round grade,” Acho told The Bud Light Morning Rush — ESPN radio in Austin, Texas. “I was definitely surprised, I was definitely shocked when I went in the fourth round.”
Shocked?
That sounds like a football player with a little extra something to prove.
“For a moment I was a little disappointed,” Acho said of not being drafted on Friday, the day of rounds two and three. “It wasn’t that I didn’t get picked in the second or third round and it wasn’t necessarily that I wasn’t picked, it was just because I felt I had been lied to by some of the coaches and scouts.”
The draft is behind Acho and he is now a Cardinal, which is perfectly fine with him.
“One thing I do know, Arizona is and is going to be the perfect place for me,” Acho said. “I couldn’t be more excited and there couldn’t be a better team that I ended up with.”
Acho wasted little time in getting familiar with his new teammates as he is already in Arizona and working out.
“I honestly couldn’t have thought of a better fit and a better team.”
