Arizona State kicker Cristian Zendejas may be returning to the Sun Devils after entering the NCAA Transfer Portal in January.
Zendejas took to Instagram with the caption, “I’m back, ONLY by the grace of God! Ready to GLORIFY his name! #8.”
Although it seems the kicker would be back with the team, coach Herm Edwards had some cryptic comments on the situation.
“That’s a guy I know. Who is that guy? Yea I know that guy! The kicker,” Edwards exclaimed. “Just keep waiting, open for review. I will leave it at that. You might see him one day, just saying. I can’t mention anymore so just let it go.”
Zendejas has been the starting kicker to open the season over the last two years, but seemed to lose his job at the end of the 2020 campaign to freshman Jack Luckhurst.
The kicker is the son of Sun Devil legend Luis Zendejas, who also made a name for himself kicking the football through the upright.
