The Arizona Diamondbacks and Caesars on Wednesday released digital renderings of the planned sportsbook outside of Chase Field in downtown Phoenix.
The betting service will take over the space of what is currently Game 7 Grill and include betting services, a sports bar and a broadcast studio.
The project is expected to be completed in early 2022.
“Caesars Sportsbook at Chase Field will bring to life the vision of our brand by celebrating the Caesars promise of treating everyone like royalty,” co-president of Caesars Digital Eric Hession said in a release.
“These renderings provide a taste of what this incredible new venue will offer, but there’s so much more we can’t wait to show Arizona customers when the space officially opens. Sports bettor or not, we’re hoping fans will visit to enjoy an unbeatable experience.”
Plans call for a 20,000 square-foot, two-story venue. About half of that will be dining space.
While fans attending D-backs games will not have access to the sportsbook, those at the Caesars venue will be able to watch games on LED screens that will take up about 1,500 combined square feet of space indoors and out. Fans at the D-backs game will be able to place bets on the Caesars mobile app.
In May, D-backs president and CEO Derrick Hall told Doug & Wolf on Arizona Sports that Major League Baseball rules do not allow for sports betting inside the stadium.
The sportsbook will be open during games but also year-round.
Before the venue opens, the Diamondbacks said they will allow sports betting beginning when the state opens up to sports gambling on Sept. 9. Fans can visit the Chase Field ticket windows 21-25 to place bets.
There will also be five betting kiosks opening on the north side of the plaza outside the stadium before the sportsbook is open for business.
“The Caesars Sportsbook at Chase Field will be the premier sports betting and entertainment destination in downtown Phoenix,” Hall said in a release. “D-backs fans, Arizona residents, and out-of-state visitors, whether they are sports bettors or not, should look forward to this state-of-the-art, year-round location that will feature a first-class dining, betting and hospitality experience – all while taking in their favorite sporting event or watching their favorite team. This sportsbook will transform the sports viewing experience in Arizona.”
