It didn’t take long for Arizona State to put points up on the board in the 2021 football season opener against Southern Utah.
Arizona State immediately picked the ball off on Southern Utah’s first drive with DeAndre Pierce, son of defensive coordinator Antonio Pierce.
It was returned to the 3-yard line and Arizona State punched it in into the end zone on the first offensive play of the season.

Southern Utah on the very next possession marched close to ASU’s red zone but fumbled the ball.
Arizona State took advantage of the recovery and turned into a touchdown on six plays and 76 yards, highlighted by a fantastic catch by Sun Devil receiver Ricky Pearsall on 3rd-and-23.
Rachaad White hit a large hole and ran 26 yards to the house to put ASU up by two touchdowns just over six minutes into the game.
Too easy for 3️⃣.@3_chaad scores from 26 yards out.
