Arizona State running backs DeaMonte Trayanum and Rachaad White dominated on the ground Thursday in the Sun Devils’ 41-14 victory over Southern Utah.

Trayanum and White combined for four rushing touchdowns and 110 yards on just 13 carries.

Following a Southern Utah turnover on the opening drive, Trayanum took the first offensive play of the season for three yards to the end zone.

The very next possession was White’s turn as he capped off a 76-yard drive with a nifty 26-yard touchdown run.

Southern Utah scored on the next possession cutting the Sun Devils’ lead to only six points.

White was then the recipient of yet another touchdown as he put an exclamation point on the third successful drive in four possessions with a 1-yard touchdown.

Whether it was White or Trayanum did not seem to matter as Southern Utah did not have an answer.

Trayanum broke the game open on the Sun Devils’ fifth offensive possession, scoring the team’s fourth rushing touchdown in just nine attempts.

The Sun Devils added two more rushing touchdowns courtesy of Ricky Pearsall and Daniyel Ngata, totalling six on the night.
