With Arizona football kicking off the Jedd Fisch era against BYU in the Vegas Kickoff Classic, the oddsmakers are not in favor of the Wildcats come Saturday night.

The Cougars are set as 12.5-point favorites according to FanDuel Sportsbook. In the last five meetings between the two, BYU is 4-1 against the spread, with the most recent coming in 2018 behind a 28-23 win in Tucson.

As of Friday, there’s no favorite on either side of the spread with both having -110 odds.

However, BYU is a large favorite on the money line at -500, meaning a $100 bet would net you $20. That makes the odds of the Wildcats pulling off the upset at +360, where an $100 bet could win you $360.

The matchup features two offenses trying to find an identity, as the Wildcats break in a two-quarterback system and the Cougars look to replace quarterback Zach Wilson, after he went No. 2 overall to the New York Jets in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Because of the unknowns on the offensive side of the ball, the over/under is set at 53.5, where the over is currently a -114 favorite. The under has hit in the last five meetings between the two, according to OddsShark.

It wasn’t a great 2020 season for the Wildcats against the spread, as they were 1-4 in five games after only covering the spread in a 34-30 loss to Southern California.
