Former Suns F Cedric Ceballos says he is hospitalized with COVID-19

Former NBA player Cedric Ceballos tweeted Tuesday that he is currently in the hospital fighting COVID-19.

Ceballos tweeted that he’s been in the intensive care unit for the past 10 days.

“On my 10th day in ICU, COVID-19 is officially kicking my (butt),” Ceballos wrote along with a picture of him in a hospital bed.

“I am asking ALL family, friends, prayer warriors healers for your prayers and well wish for my recovery.”

Tuesday’s update was his first tweet in two weeks.

He played part of six seasons with the Phoenix Suns during his NBA career. Ceballos was part of the 1992-93 Western Conference championship-winning team. He scored 12.8 points per game in the 1992-93 season and led the NBA in field goal percentage at 57.6%.

Ceballos averaged 11.8 points with 4.5 rebounds per game during his time with the Suns.

He also played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, Miami Heat and the Detroit Pistons during his 11-year career. Ceballos earned one All-Star appearance with the Lakers in the 1994-95 season.
