ARIZONA CARDINALS INJURY REPORT
Cardinals-Titans injury report: Cardinals OLB Dennis Gardeck out Week 1
Cardinals linebacker Dennis Gardeck appeared on track to play Week 1 against the Titans after a smooth recovery from ACL surgery in January, but a hand issue suffered Thursday will keep him out of the season-opener, Arizona coach Kliff Kingsbury said.
Kingsbury added Friday that it’s possible Gardeck might miss more time after Arizona plays on the road Sunday at Tennessee.
Gardeck closed last season second on the Cardinals with 7.0 sacks in 94 defensive snaps, adding 16 total tackles, seven tackles for loss and 10 quarterback hits. He suffered the ACL injury in Week 15 and underwent surgery in January.
On the Titans’ end, receiver A.J. Brown was back at practice and a full participant Thursday and Friday after he sat out of practice with a knee injury.
It appears the absence Wednesday was no more than a day off. Brown underwent surgery on both knees in January but also suffered a knee injury in August that kept him out of practices.
Titans kicker Sam Ficken appeared on the Friday injury report as questionable due to a right groin injury. He was limited, and Tennessee responded by adding Michael Badgley to the practice squad in case Ficken is not able to play.
The Cardinals have a fairly clean injury report other than Gardeck.
Arizona tight end Darrell Daniels was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday due to a toe injury but a full-go Friday.
Receiver Antoine Wesley, who is on the backend of the depth chart, appeared on the report Friday as out due to illness.
