While guys like Reggie Bush and Reshad Mendenhall are spending their free time due to the lockout ruining their reputations via Twitter and Chad Ochocinco is spending it riding bulls, one Arizona Cardinal has decided to do something a little more productive.
In a month that he’d usually be reporting to Flagstaff for training camp, Cards punter Ben Graham will be in Austria. He won’t be there on vacation or to sight see though.
According to the Herald Sun in his native Austrailia, Graham will take part in the International Federation of American Football world championships this July held in Austria. He will be a member of the Austrailian Outback team that will play in Group A against the US, Mexico and Germany.
It’s interesting that Graham has committed to this event. One might be able to read into it as him believing that training camp is unlikely to begin on time. That or he just has tremendous pride for his home country and they were short on good American football players.
Either way it’s good to know that football involving an Arizona Cardinal is guaranteed to be played come this July. Too bad it will take a 12 hour flight, rather than a two hour drive, to be able to watch it.
