Arizona State football hosts the UNLV Rebels this Saturday, the 20th anniversary of 9/11, and the grounds crew added a creative touch to remember the victims lost in the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York.
Athletic grounds facilities manager Brian Johnson posted a finished product of a Sept. 11 remembrance painting at midfield.

The sideline reads “We remember,” while a 9-11 and silhouette of the World Trade Center’s twin towers that were attacked in 2001 span nearly the width of the field at Sun Devil Stadium.
ASU also posted a video of the crew at work painting the entire field for the second game of the season.

The look also includes a pitchfork at midfield, with duos of the classic Sparky imagery and the Pac-12 logos sitting diagonal from one another at the quarter-field marks.
The Sun Devils will be wearing maroon-themed jerseys and new two-toned helmets for their game on the two-decade anniversary of Sept. 11.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m., and the game will air on ESPN 620 AM or 98.7 FM-HD2.
