The Cardinals placed wide receiver Antoine Wesley on the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday.

A corresponding move has yet to be announced by the organization.

The news comes two days before Arizona opens up the regular season on the road against the Tennessee Titans.

Wesley was originally listed as out with an illness on the team’s final injury report of the week Friday. He’s joined by outside linebacker Dennis Gardeck, who suffered a hand injury during Thursday’s practice.

The wide receiver was signed May 21 to a one-year deal and quickly shot up the depth chart, making the 53-man roster over the likes of KeeSean Johnson.

He’s also a familiar face for head coach Kliff Kingsbury, having played under him during his college days at Texas Tech.

Wesley got his NFL start as an undrafted rookie free agent on the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad in 2019 before spending all of last season on the injured reserve.

The Cardinals kick off their season on the road against the Titans on Sunday. Tune to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station at 10 a.m. for all the action.
