The Arizona Coyotes announced the hiring of new assistant coach Mario Duhamel and the return of assistant coaches Phil Housley, Cory Stillman and goaltending coach Corey Schwab.

Duhamel joins first-year head coach Andre Tourigny’s staff after serving under Tourigny with the Ottawa 67’s.

The 46-year-old Duhamel has NHL experience as an assistant coach and video coordinator under Patrick Roy with the Colorado Avalanche for two seasons.

He was a finalist for the QMJHL Ron Lapointe Coach of the Year Award in 2010-11.

Housley, Stillman and Schwab were all part of the Coyotes coaching staff last year.

Schawb is the longest tenured on the staff as the goalie coach of the Coyotes for the last four seasons.

Under his tutelage, Darcy Kuemper was selected as the fourth goalie in franchise history to be chosen for the NHL All-Star Game.

Housley brings head coaching experience to the staff after serving as head coach of the Buffalo Sabres for two seasons.

He joined the Coyotes organization in 2019 and was inducted to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015 after a 21-year NHL playing career.

Stillman enters his second season with the Coyotes. He was previously the head coach of the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League.

The Coyotes season begins on Oct. 14 against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
