Kyler Murray wins Nickelodeon Valuable Player award for Week 1

Sep 15, 2021, 5:23 PM

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray made his first Pro Bowl last year, and as his young resume for Canton continues to grow, he can add being a Nickelodeon Valuable Player on there too.

Yes, you heard me right. In the National Football League and CBS’ new broadcasting on the kid’s television channel, there is now a program entitled “NFL Slimetime.” In the show, CBS NFL analyst Nate Burelson and 12-year-old Dylan recap the week’s action, including awarding that NVP for the week’s MVP.

Murray gets to say he was the first, and what a cool trophy!

It was well deserved. Murray was one of four quarterbacks to throw for at least four touchdowns in Week 1, and Arizona’s signal caller also rushed for one as well.

That was not good enough, however, for NFC Offensive Player of the Week, which was given to Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.

It looks like Murray noticed.

Next up on Murray’s list is winning both. Given how he won the NFC’s weekly honor three times last year, it’s safe to say he’s got a decent shot at pulling it off.
