The Hamilton High School Huskies trailed 24-7 with 1:10 remaining in Friday night’s matchup with Las Vegas’ Bishop Gorman in Chandler.

A 46-yard field goal cut the Husky deficit to two possessions, but with just over a minute on the clock, their chances looked bleak.

The ensuing kick pried the door open, though, as Hamilton converted on an onside attempt down the middle of the field.

Quarterback Nicco Marchiol, limping and grimacing, led a touchdown drive that pulled the Huskies within seven with 29 seconds left.

Hamilton lined up bunched around kicker Jacob Medina for the onside again, and converted.

With 14 ticks left from the Bishop Gorman 22-yard line, Marchiol fired a strike over the middle to running back Nick Switzer, who took contact and fell into the end zone.

Hamilton elected to go for the two-point conversion and the win with the momentum on its side.

Marchiol rolled to his left, evaded pressure and darted down the sideline for the pylon. He dove and made it, securing the remarkable last-minute comeback 25-24 win to get his team to 3-0.
